I know normally Balinesse do not celebrate their (Roman calendar based) birthday. There's six months- cyclus birthday celebration look-a-like called otonan.
I skipped my otonan since moving to Bandung and i miss it alot!

If i ask my dad when should i start a brand new blog, he will grab the balinesse calendar then doing some sort of calculation and analysis and come out with a date and a couple more back up option, in case i'm in a rush or i need more preparation time. It's true! according to Balinesse ppl there's always a best day to do anything, from the least important to the most crucial event in your life...
what feather-coloured-cock should you bet on a cockfight, what day should you buy a new motorcycle, when should you start a new bussiness, etc. if you choose the wrong time, then bad things will occur.
Someday in the 90's, my father suddenly got sick. The doctor couldn't cure the sickness. After rewind his memory, my father remembered that he was sticked a pole on the field the other day. And it was a bad time to stick whatever-that-could-stick on the rice field. After someone pulled the pole, my father recovered his health. Weird story huh?
So I think today is the best time to start a new blog. I haven't consult with my father yet, but since it is Galungan day then it's OK. What day could be more blessed than Galungan day? It's the day when the holly ancestors get down to the sinfull earth only to check out the blog! :D I'll pretend that all the festive and cellebration that happen in Bali right now is held to celebrate this new blog. yeah!
